SYMBOLS YOU JUST KNOW
Documenting symbols in the environment can be difficult in knowing what a symbol is? The images displayed show symbols that tell us what to do or what is there through pictorial elements. They also portray a sense of direction without the use of arrows. When walking through the street now i notice directional symbols a lot more thanks to Symbols and Distribution. These symbols are absolutely everywhere and its almost impossible to turn a blind eye to now.

TANGRAM
watering can
bull dozer
old lady/witch
eccentric flower/sattelite
frantic housewife
a cat
Our first class exercise was to create a serious of shapes or pictures with the use of a tan-gram. All pieces had to be touching and not overlapped. I found the exercise not challenging as such but not completely simple in creating an image that could be recognised. The use of the tan-gram sits as a perfect introduction for Symbols and Distribution!
