The "S" stands for Scientology, the lower triangle is called the A-R-C triangle and the upper is knows as the K-R-C triangle. A-R-C refers to affinity, reality and communication. K-R-C refers to Knowledge, Responsibility and control. Although I think Scientology is a crock of shit religion, i do like their symbol. The multiple layers within the symbol and how they overlap each other creates a real sense of depth making the symbol stand out form the page. Your eye is immediately drawn to the S that is interlocked with the two triangles, letting the viewer know that it stand for Scientology.
This is the poster I designed for 'Whack-Ups' It basically describes our cause as a design initiative without giving away to much information leaving the audience in wonder. The poster displays the various quotes we are using throughout our distribution posters. This poster would be used as a form of advertising rather than a distribution of ours, considering the use of posters is our main distribution method. For instance it would best work in a magazine or as a flyer, still leaving the viewer in anticipation.
